Where is the substance ?

December 8th, 2008 | by winsonlee |

In reference of my friend’s blog I was so suprise to see that people is blogging to make money. True enough that I started to put advertisement in my blog as well. But the main reason I blog is purely according to my personal interest. Bloging for the sake of money is such a degradable to people who actually invented blog. The reason blog exist is to share information across all country and all nation. After reading through a couple of post in http://www.5xmom.com/, I personally feel that those entries in the blog does not have any substance at all. For the public, why would you support a blog that containts information just for the sake of the blogger making money ? If you read kennysia.com or sixthseal.com , at least you feel that you obtain something out from the blog. Apologise for being blunt here but reading blog like 5xmon.com just makes me feel stupider. One malaysian blog that I will support till today and it never fail to bring amuzement to my life is stocktube.blogspot.com. Although it did mention about making money online, but at least every single post that is written at least you know that much effort has been put in. I spend at least 3 hours for post related to investment and the world economy. Although there are some which is purely according to my personal opinion, but mostly is information that I read online. I try to put everything together to form a better understanding of what is going on in the world or with a company. I do not need to depend on blogging to survive as I have a full time job and at the same time I do freelance every now and then as well. For me, the reason I blog is just to share and convey the message across. For me, even if one person is reading I will still continue writing as I know the one and only person may be benefiting from the content that I wrote. I am not trying to say that what I blog about is 100% right, but at least I do hope that you are obtaining something out from it.

LOL. Bro, of all people you chose her to stab.

To me, there are many kinds of blogs — personal, politics, photography, food, travel, make money, entertainment, etc. There is no right or wrong in blogging, as long as we do not cross the limit. The question is, where is the limit? Who determines the limit?

5xMom has a wide range of blogs. Blogs have some similarity with magazines, books and other medias. When you get the right kind and number of audience, it can start making you money. Whether to make or not to make money is up to the owner of the blog.

There are magazines, books, or shows that are total nonsense to me but they do bring in the green notes to the owners. I guess what matters is that they attract audiences.

I would presume in malaysia the limit is define by the government. As much as there are freedom of speech, it would only be to a certain extend.
Most would want to get attention from the public. But how many can stretch to the extend on what Raja Petra is doing ?
