Panasonic FX01 vs FX9

May 22nd, 2006 | by winsonlee |

I guess most of the people notice that fx01 is out in the market since February 06.
It is a replacement model for panasonic fx9 that was release july 05
Difference ??
Not much but certain features in fx01 comes in handy when taking certain photos.
The lens for fx01 is 28-102mm compare to fx9 with 35-105mm.
This means that more things can fit into a picture when taking scenery like mountain.
Fx01 can takes video up to 848 x 480 30/10 fps (16:9) resolution. The quality of the video is superb.
But the size of the video with such quality is extremly huge.
Downloaded a sample video with 6 sec duration and the file size is more then 10 megs.
If u plan to take video with a camera, make sure u have a very huge memory card.
Now the standard memory size for camera is 1 gig.
Intend to take video with this camera ??? Using this camera with ipod video will be helpful.
when the memory is full, you can just transfer the video to your 60 gig ipod.
Can roughly calculate how long video u can take with y our 60 gig ipod.
Probably 10 hours of video ?
FX 01 comes with high sensitivity mode 800-1600
Higher iso speed means u increase the sensitivity of the sensor.
But at the same time the noise will become more visible at higher ISO’s.
Of course fx01 comes with more scene modes as well.
